Since our main goal is to make disciples of Christ through the teaching of the Bible, teaching our children the Word of God is one of the most important things we can do. Trinity aims to grow our children in the faith throughout the year with a variety of educational opportunities and expereinces.
Each Sunday ages 3-15 (younger if a parent is present) gather for our youth bible class. Our children start by learning basic bible stories such as the creation, the flood, Sampson, and the like. But our goal is always to teach and grow them more in the faith, so our children also learn not just the events of the Bible, but how these events effect us today, and especially how all of this leads to Christ who we have our lives from.
Each year we also participate in Operation Christmas child. Our children help to gather supplies for and pack and ship the boxes for this.
Each summer we gather our children and children of the community for a week of learning and fun. Last year, we dug through the Apostles Creed to learn how the triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) works in our lives to provide us with all we have, save us from our sin, and gives us faith in Him.
The program is aimed at PreK 3 - fifth grade, but younger children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
The last Wednesday before Christmas our children participate in a Christmas service. In this service, our little ones confess the Word of God and act out the birth of our Lord, learning in word and in act what our God does for us when He comes in our flesh on Christmas morning.
Starting in 5th grade Trinity offers youth Catechesis. This instructional class takes the basics of what the child has learned up to this point and digs a little deeper. In this class children study in depth the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, Baptism, Absolution, and the Lord's Supper.
If you have any interest in your child starting this class, please reach out by phone or email.
Our Middle and High School students have the opportunity to go on retreats, usually one in the winter or spring and one in the summer or fall. We've gone to national retreats that last a week and more local retreats that last a day or two.
